The European Language Activities at Katara celebrated the Swedish language organized by the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, and Katara Public Diplomacy Center in cooperation with European Union and European Union Embassies, with the presence of a number of ambassadors and officials.
The event featured screening of a series of documentaries and videos providing detailed information about Sweden and reflecting various aspects of life in Sweden. Moreover, Interactive paragraphs were also introduced, presenting the most important words in Swedish used in everyday life, as well as a collection of Sweden’s induction publications.
HE Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the State Gautam Bhattacharyya was pleased that Katara had hosted this event, which coincided with the celebration of Sweden’s National Day. He praised the European language events launched by the Katara Public Diplomacy Center, which he described as a pioneering initiative to give a valuable opportunity for every European country to share its language and culture and start rich dialogues about it with individuals from different cultures.
HE the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the State emphasized that the Katara Initiative provided this valuable opportunity to share different experiences and discuss life and human issues and bring people together with groups from diverse cultural backgrounds.
European language events are held in Katara over six weeks, and run through June 20. The participating countries present their activities, which vary between workshops and lectures on European languages.
