Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has chaired a meeting where significant directives and approvals were made to enhance social cohesion and address the emirate's health and water needs.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Khaled has directed the enablement of residential grant transfers by gift among citizens, specifically limited to spouses and first-degree relatives. This move aims to strengthen family bonds within the Emirati community. Additionally, the council approved Abu Dhabi's Healthy Living Strategy, which is managed by the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi, alongside the Integrated Water Strategy, overseen by the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy. These strategies include programmes designed to address the emirate's growing water demands and promote a healthier lifestyle among its residents.
H.H. Sheikh Khaled emphasized the importance of advancing development projects according to approved timelines. He also advocated for integrating modern technologies and AI solutions in government operations to ensure community wellbeing. The council reviewed various government projects, programmes, and initiatives aimed at improving quality of life across the emirate.
The Healthy Living Strategy focuses on encouraging healthy eating and physical activity, leveraging data and AI for preventive health policies, and fostering collaboration between public and private sectors to promote health awareness. The strategy aims to empower community members to make informed, healthy choices and support the development of a sustainable society.
Meanwhile, the Integrated Water Strategy seeks to enhance the reliability of the water system by securing supply, reducing costs, and upgrading infrastructure with advanced technologies. It aims to diversify water sources, develop resilient infrastructure, and adopt smart systems for efficient water consumption. This approach is designed to strengthen water supply security and preserve groundwater reserves.
H.H. Sheikh Khaled highlighted that these strategies align with the UAE and Abu Dhabi's climate targets through to 2050, supporting the transition towards smart and sustainable solutions.
