Abu dhabi: Khalifa University of Science and Technology and the Institute of Innovation and Professional Development (IIPD) Global have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a collaboration framework aimed at enhancing learning, professional development, and research through joint initiatives.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed by Professor Bayan Sharif, Provost of Khalifa University, and Farooq Mohammed, Business Director of IIPD, in Abu Dhabi, with senior officials from both partners in attendance. The partnership will explore opportunities to share resources, including faculty and training materials, to support learning and development initiatives. It also encompasses resource sharing, joint Khalifa University-certified industry-relevant courses and training programmes, and coordinated training opportunities to provide instructors, expertise, and infrastructure.
The agreement allows IIPD to participate in events organised by Khalifa University and includes awareness sessions addressing key industry trends, emerging technologies, and professional skills for students and faculty. Professor Sharif stated that the partnership will contribute to building human capital in areas relevant to the UAE's knowledge economy transformation, as well as globally.
"Khalifa University's academic and research base makes it a higher education institution capable of equipping learners with necessary skills for individual and professional development. Combining our resources with IIPD will create synergy to benefit stakeholders in acquiring special skills and facilitate the creation of highly trained and informed individuals," he added.
Farooq Mohammed remarked that the collaboration signifies a significant milestone for IIPD, combining world-class academic excellence with global training expertise to prepare professionals and students for future technologies and challenges.
