Korea’s Exports Rise by 6.4% in Early November

Seoul: The Republic of Korea's exports increased by 6.4 percent from a year earlier in the first 10 days of November, data showed Tuesday. Outbound shipments reached US$15.8 billion during this period, compared with $14.9 billion recorded the previous year.

According to Emirates News Agency, the data from the Korea Customs Service highlighted that imports also rose by 8.2 percent on-year to $17 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of $1.2 billion. The agency attributed the rise in exports to strong global demand for semiconductors, automobiles, and ships.

In the preceding month of October, exports grew by 3.6 percent from a year earlier, totaling $59.57 billion. This growth was supported by the robust demand for semiconductors, marking the fifth consecutive month of increase.
