Latifa bint Mohammed Engages with Global Future Councils on Strategic Initiatives

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, convened with members of the Global Future Councils, along with national experts, in a meeting attended by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The gathering took place during the Annual Meetings of the Global Future Councils and Cybersecurity 2025, organized by the UAE Government in partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF) until 16 October.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was graced by several high-profile attendees, including Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Co-Chair of the Global Future Councils; Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA); and Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, among others. This assembly underscores the UAE's commitment to addressing global challenges through collaborative foresight and innovation.

The Global Future Councils, bringing together over 700 experts from 93 countries, will see the inclusion of 38 national talents for the 2025-2026 period, comprising new and returning members. Their roles are pivotal in enhancing foresight, driving innovation, and crafting pathways for sustainable development and prosperity on a global scale.

New members from various fields have joined the councils, including Emirati officials and specialists. Notable appointments include Salama AlHaj Alawadhi to the Global Future Council on Advanced Manufacturing, and Dr. Amer Sharif to the Council on Antimicrobial Resistance. These appointments highlight the diverse expertise being mobilized to tackle pressing global issues.

The UAE's active participation in the Global Future Councils reflects its strategic vision to become a nexus for future foresight and innovative policy-making. This engagement not only supports advanced national policy development but also strengthens international partnerships, accelerates progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals, and enhances the UAE's strategic resilience in addressing future challenges.
