Mansoor bin Mohammed Reviews Marine Traffic Management Plan for New Year Festivities

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, visited the headquarters of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation at Mina Rashid to review the comprehensive plan prepared by the Dubai Maritime Authority for regulating marine traffic during New Year's Eve celebrations.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Mansoor was received by Sultan bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman and CEO, and other senior officials from the Dubai Maritime Authority and various coordinating entities. The New Year's Eve marine navigation management plan was presented in light of the increase in marine traffic and foreign yachts visiting Dubai. The plan includes mechanisms for managing traffic routes, regulating mooring areas, and monitoring congestion points to ensure smooth navigation.

Sheikh Mansoor was also briefed on procedures for facilitating the entry and movement of foreign yachts. This involves coordination between the Dubai Maritime Authority, Dubai Customs, and other security entities, ensuring efficient completion of vessel procedures while complying with regulations. These efforts enhance the readiness of tourist marinas and ensure proper tracking of marine vessel movements.

He highlighted the significance of timely preparations and seamless coordination among diverse entities, which reflects Dubai's approach to managing major events with high organisational and security standards. This ensures the safety of lives and property, while fostering public and visitor confidence in the marine traffic management system. Sheikh Mansoor stressed the need for continuous development of operational and security plans to keep pace with maritime sector growth.

Sheikh Dr. Saeed affirmed Dubai's leadership as a global centre for safe maritime activities. He noted that the New Year's Eve 2026 marine traffic management plan, developed with partners like Dubai Police and Dubai Ambulance, aims to manage the event efficiently and prevent maritime incidents despite the increase in participating vessels. Prior learnings have been incorporated into future operational manuals to enhance readiness and reinforce Dubai's status as a safe global maritime destination.
