Men’s Professional Race Added to Dubai T100 Triathlon

Dubai:Hayden Wilde, the reigning T100 World Champion, is set to compete in Dubai, bringing along the world's top male triathletes. The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has announced the addition of a men's professional race to the Dubai T100 Triathlon, scheduled to take place at Al Mamzar on Saturday, 14 November, with both men and women competing on the same morning.

According to Wam, the men's race will commence at 1003, five minutes ahead of the women's race, and both events will be broadcast live on the PTO's global network. With the recent confirmation that the Saudi Arabia T100 in Jeddah, initially planned for 27 November, will now occur in April 2027, Dubai becomes the only stop this year to host both professional races before the World Championship Final in Qatar.

The triathlon will feature athletes such as Australia's Jake Birtwhistle and Germany's Lasse Nygaard Priester, who are currently second and third in the standings. Other notable competitors include Mika Noodt, who was on the Dubai podium last year, and Kyle Smith, Wilde's training partner.

Wilde, who recently won the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice, expressed his eagerness to participate in both the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) Abu Dhabi Sprint distance race and the Dubai T100. He mentioned, "If there's a chance to have a crack at both the WTCS Abu Dhabi and Dubai T100, then I'm all in."

Sam Renouf, CEO of the PTO, expressed excitement about hosting both men's and women's professional races in Dubai, acknowledging the support from Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai Sports Council. He emphasized the significance of having this event during the Dubai Fitness Challenge, providing an excellent opportunity for spectators to witness top-tier triathlon competition.

The Dubai T100 Triathlon Weekend will run from 13-15 November at Al Mamzar, featuring various events for amateurs alongside the professional races as part of the 10th Dubai Fitness Challenge.
