Ministries Launch Initiative to Train 1,000 Emirati Entrepreneurs

Dubai: The Ministry of Economy and Tourism and the Ministry of Community Empowerment have launched a new initiative to train and qualify 1,000 entrepreneurs from Emirati families across the UAE. This initiative focuses on entrepreneurship, business establishment, and project management as part of 'The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World' campaign introduced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

According to Emirates News Agency, this initiative includes a development programme in collaboration with the New Economy Academy and a strategic partnership with the National CSR Fund - Majra. The announcement was made at a meeting in Dubai, attended by several key figures, including Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Aisha Ahmed Yousef, Sara Shaw, and Dr. Laila Faridoon.

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, highlighted the UAE's commitment to supporting entrepreneurial projects under its wise leadership. He remarked that the 'Entrepreneurs from Emirati Families' initiative aligns with national efforts to inspire Emirati talents to transform innovative ideas into sustainable ventures.

The initiative aims to bolster the skills of 1,000 entrepreneurs from Emirati families, providing professional training aligned with market standards. It encourages ventures within the new economy to support income sustainability. Over five years, the programme plans to train 200 families annually, offering technical support and business development guidance.

Al Saleh emphasized the collaboration with partners to expand participants' market presence and promote sustainable local production. Yousef reiterated the Ministry's priority to support Emirati family entrepreneurs, aiming to develop their skills and achieve economic independence.

Yousef also noted that the initiative aligns with the Ministry's 'From Care to Empowerment' strategy and the UAE Centennial 2071 goals. It aims to foster national talents, enhance productivity, and support the national economy by building cohesive, entrepreneurial families.

The Ministry of Community Empowerment is committed to expanding community partnerships and strengthening collaboration across sectors. This initiative seeks to provide entrepreneurs with the knowledge and resources needed for business success locally and internationally.

Shaw stated that Majra's support for the initiative is part of its commitment to sustainable social responsibility and fostering partnerships for sustainable development. Dr. Faridoon added that the programme aims to equip participants with tools for managing ventures, preparing them to overcome market challenges and elevate their products.

The number of entrepreneurs from Emirati families in the UAE increased in 2024, reaching 3,307, reflecting a 4.5 percent annual growth. This growth underscores the effectiveness of national initiatives supporting this vital sector.
