Mohammed Al Sharqi Attends Opening of Fujairah International Mining Conference


Fujairah: H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, emphasized the mining sector’s crucial contribution to sustainable growth and the local economy during his attendance at the 10th Fujairah International Mining Conference. The event, patronized by H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, aims to enhance the emirate’s global competitiveness in this industry.



According to Emirates News Agency, the conference was organized by the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Arab Organisation for Industrial Development, Standardisation, and Mining. Attended by several Sheikhs, the event underscored the Ruler of Fujairah’s directives to develop the mining sector with a focus on sustainability and innovation, aligning with the UAE’s strategic goals.



H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad also honored recipients of the Fujairah Global Award for Best Sustainable Mining Practices, acknowledging exemplary projects that advance the sector and support sustainability efforts.



In his remarks, Mohammed Saif Al Afkham, Chairman of the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation, noted that the conference’s tenth edition is a significant milestone. Over the years, it has become a global forum for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the future of sustainable mining. The event features representatives from 57 countries, with 61 speakers, 13 sponsors, eight specialized workshops, and participation from 1,600 attendees.
