Reem Al Hashimy Engages in Key Discussions at MED – Mediterranean Dialogues 2025 in Naples

Abu dhabi: Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, participated in MED - Mediterranean Dialogues 2025, held at the Royal Palace in Naples from 15-17 October. The event was co-hosted by the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

According to Emirates News Agency, Reem Al Hashimy took part in a Special Dialogue, focusing on developments in Gaza. She emphasized the importance of protecting civilians and ensuring humanitarian access in coordination with regional partners. Al Hashimy affirmed the UAE's commitment to accelerating aid delivery and supporting measures that enable assistance to reach those in need efficiently.

Al Hashimy highlighted the robust UAE-Italy strategic relations, emphasizing both countries' dedication to enhancing cooperation across key sectors for sustainable development and regional stability. She pointed to major infrastructure initiatives and the Eni-Khazna data centre project as examples of joint efforts advancing innovation and growth.

She also noted that artificial intelligence is a core strategic focus for the UAE, underscoring the country's dedication to leveraging technology for sustainable development and advanced industries.

The minister remarked that MED - Mediterranean Dialogues serves as an essential platform for regional engagement, uniting officials, experts, and thought-leaders to discuss issues such as stability, connectivity, economic resilience, and migration governance.

On the sidelines of the forum, Al Hashimy met with Luigi Di Maio, European Union Special Representative for the Gulf, discussing regional developments and coordination on de-escalation and humanitarian priorities. She also engaged with think tank officials to exchange views on regional trends and explore areas for enhanced policy cooperation.
