Saudi Defence Ministry: Three Ballistic Missiles Intercepted, Destroyed


Dubai: The official spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defence, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, Thursday stated that three ballistic missiles launched towards Prince Sultan Air Base were intercepted and destroyed, according to the Saudi Press Agency.



According to Emirates News Agency, the interception and destruction of the missiles were successfully carried out by the Saudi air defense forces. Major General Al-Maliki emphasized that the swift response was in line with the Kingdom’s commitment to protect its territories and maintain regional stability.



The attempted attack on Prince Sultan Air Base highlights ongoing security challenges in the region. The Saudi Ministry of Defence is reportedly conducting investigations to determine the origin of the missile launch and any potential affiliations.



The air base, which serves as a strategic military installation, has been a target of previous threats. The Saudi Ministry of Defence has reiterated its vigilance and readiness to counter any future threats to its national security.
