Semera:The Second Ethiopia International Date Palm Festival 2026 concluded in the Afar Region city of Semera, marking the end of a vibrant three-day event.

According to Emirates News Agency, the festival was organized by the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation in collaboration with Ethiopia's Ministry of Agriculture, and was supported by Erth Zayed Philanthropies, an affiliate of the Presidential Court.

The festival featured a variety of scientific, commercial, and community activities, attracting participation from farmers, producers, researchers, experts, and specialized institutions. The exhibition included 55 exhibitors from seven countries€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬UAE, Ethiopia, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Mauritania, and T¼rkiye€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬across 48 pavilions, showcasing different date varieties and products, alongside the latest cultivation and processing technologies.

Dr. Abdelouahhab Alboukhari Zaid, Secretary-General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, noted that the festival's success reflects the strength and sustainability of the ongoing partnership and signifies a move towards empowerment and value creation in the sector. He emphasized Ethiopia and the Afar Region's potential for further development in the date palm industry.
