Sharjah Chamber Highlights New Logistics Corridor with Oman

Sharjah: Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director General of the Communication and Business Sector at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), announced that the Chamber, in collaboration with the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, organized an introductory seminar on the 'Integrated Logistics Corridor' connecting the Emirate of Sharjah and the Sultanate of Oman.

According to Emirates News Agency, the event gathered representatives from both the public and private sectors involved in trade and logistics. It showcased the corridor's significant advantages, including the reduction of goods waiting times from three months to just 30 days. This initiative is part of Sharjah's broader efforts to enhance the business environment and facilitate foreign trade.

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, orchestrated the seminar with active participation from stakeholders in the trade and logistics sectors.

Al Shamsi emphasized the Chamber's dedication to assisting companies in maximizing the benefits of the advanced logistics system. This system is designed to improve supply chain efficiency and bolster regional competitiveness. He highlighted that the seminar underscored the major opportunities presented by the corridor, particularly its capability to significantly reduce cargo waiting times. Al Shamsi also stated that the corridor is one of the high-quality services that Sharjah provides to enhance the business environment and streamline foreign trade operations.
