Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired the Council's regular meeting at the Ruler's Office. The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Council discussed several topics related to monitoring the performance of government departments and enhancing institutional efficiency. It also focused on supporting various sectors and employees across the emirate to improve the quality of services provided. A significant point of discussion was the strategic development of the organic honey sector in Sharjah, which included benchmarking best practices at local, Gulf, and global levels. The review also covered partnerships with other government entities, the project's general objectives, licensing procedures, and an implementation roadmap.
SEC approved a licensing mechanism for beekeepers and site usage, aiming to regulate beekeeping activities according to specific requirements. This mechanism supports beekeepers in obtaining licences and benefiting from government and financing programmes. It also focuses on protecting local bee species from diseases, enhancing food security through high-quality local production, and reducing violations and irregular practices.
Additionally, SEC reviewed a report on Sharjah's participation in GITEX Global 2025, highlighting positive outcomes that support the Emirate's vision for innovation and digital integration. The report emphasized key projects showcased at the exhibition under four pillars: digital experiences, environmental sustainability, smart cities, and humanitarian initiatives. It also included activities like the Sharjah Digital Hackathon and the recognition of Sharjah government employees graduating from the Artificial Intelligence Academy.
The Council also examined a report on the performance outcomes of district councils in Sharjah, which included implemented initiatives, specialized programmes, and facilities provided to the community. Future development plans aimed at enhancing service quality and strengthening community engagement were also discussed to better meet the needs of citizens across the emirate's cities and regions.
