Sharjah: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has introduced a significant new leave policy for government employees in Sharjah. The newly approved 'Care Leave' is specifically designed for female employees who give birth to a sick child or a child with disabilities necessitating a constant companion.
According to Emirates News Agency, this leave will commence following the conclusion of maternity leave and has the potential for extension upon approval from the relevant authority. The initiative underscores the Sharjah government's commitment to supporting families and ensuring that mothers receive the necessary time to care for their children with special needs.
The announcement was made by Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources. Al Zaabi shared the details during a phone call on the "Direct Line" programme, which is broadcast on Sharjah Radio and Television. The program was hosted by Mohamed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, who facilitated the discussion on this important development.
