Sharjah Ruler Establishes Al Hawami District Council in Khorfakkan

Sharjah: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree establishing the Al Hawami District Council in Khorfakkan. The decree appoints Khamis Salem Khamis Musallam Al Naqbi as the chairman of the newly formed council.

According to Emirates News Agency, the council is composed of several members, including Abdullah Ali Mohammed bin Aboud Al Naqbi, Mohammed Abdullah Mohammed Al Jarrah Al Hammadi, Naeemi Ali Mubarak Al Shehhi, Ali Yousef Ali Saqr Al Hammadi, Talal Hassan Jalal Ahmed Al Houti, Dr Amina Yousef Khalfan Al Naqbi, and Abeer Ismail Ahmed Khalifa Al Hosani. The council's first task will be to elect a vice-chairman from among its members. This election can occur by consensus or through a direct secret ballot requiring a majority vote of those present. The vice-chairman will assume the chairman's responsibilities in the event of the chairman's absence or if the position is vacated.

The decree specifies that the council members will serve a four-year term starting from the council's formation date. Even after the conclusion of the current term, the council will continue its operations until a new council is appointed. There is also a provision for the reappointment of members whose terms have expired, allowing them to serve for an additional term.
