Peshawar: A suicide bombing in northwest Pakistan on Saturday resulted in the deaths of at least 13 soldiers and left 25 people injured, including civilians, as reported by officials. The attack, which occurred around lunchtime, targeted a military vehicle in North Waziristan despite the imposition of a curfew in the tribal district aimed at facilitating the movement of security forces.
According to Emirates News Agency, the wounded include 15 soldiers and 10 civilians, among them children. As of now, no group has stepped forward to claim responsibility for the attack.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the terrorist attack vehemently, emphasizing in a statement that "these barbaric acts will not deter the state from its fight against terrorism." He has also directed security forces to intensify operations to track down the militants and ensure the safety of citizens across the region.
