Abu dhabi: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, winners in the third edition of the Emirates Labour Market Award were honoured by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, and Dr Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Chairman of the award's Supervisory Committee. The ceremony took place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and was organised by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).
According to Emirates News Agency, the ceremony recognised 100 winners from approximately 18,000 applications submitted for this year's edition. The winners were selected through thorough evaluations by specialised committees, based on governance standards ensuring accuracy, transparency, and integrity. The assessment criteria covered areas including employment, occupational health and safety, innovation, talent attraction, and social responsibility, along with criteria specific to each of the award's five categories.
Dr Abdulrahman Al Awar expressed gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his support, which has been instrumental in the award's success and its role in advancing the UAE's status as a global destination for living and working. Al Awar congratulated the winners and praised the Ministry's partners, including sponsors and arbitration committees, for their contribution to the award's success.
In the Establishments category, various companies were recognized across subcategories, including Darwish Engineering Emirates, Chalhoub Group, and Saudi German Hospital, among others in sectors like Real Estate, Trade, and Healthcare. The Labour Accommodation category honoured winners across subcategories such as Tasameem Workers City and Alec Contractor. The Business Services Partners category recognized offices like Taheed for Domestic Workers Services and Mazaya Recruitment.
The Outstanding Workforce category awarded distinguished workers, with winners including Abdullah Albriki and Sivakumary Harikrishnan among others. The Elite category honoured companies such as Majid Al Futtaim Group and strategic partners like the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security for their contributions to the labour market.
Winning companies benefit from the Ministry's classification system, which offers discounts on services and priority in processing transactions. Workforce prizes included cash awards of AED 100,000 for first place, AED 75,000 for second, and AED 50,000 for third.
The award was sponsored by ten companies, including DAMAC and Aldar Properties as Diamond Sponsors, and other sponsors like du and Al Ansari Exchange, highlighting their commitment to social responsibility and supporting labour market initiatives.
