UAE and UK Officials Discuss Strengthening Parliamentary Cooperation

London: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee in the Federal National Council (FNC), met with UK House of Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle at the UK Parliament in London. The meeting was also attended by UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom Mansoor Abdullah Abulhoul.

According to Emirates News Agency, Al Nuaimi conveyed greetings from FNC Speaker Saqr Ghobash to Hoyle and emphasized the robust strategic partnership and longstanding ties between the UAE and the UK. During the meeting, both parties discussed ways to expand parliamentary cooperation, reflecting the close relationship between the two nations. They highlighted the significance of parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing bilateral engagement, exchanging perspectives, and supporting joint efforts on various national, regional, and international issues.

The discussions also covered regional and global developments, with an emphasis on the importance of parliamentary action in promoting security and stability. The talks underscored the need to foster tolerance and dialogue, counter extremist rhetoric, and support humanitarian initiatives. Sir Lindsay Hoyle praised the FNC's role in parliamentary diplomacy and its efforts to strengthen UAE-UK relations across multiple fields.
