Kuwait city: The UAE, led by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, participated in the 55th session of the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee and the 10th meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Standardisation Affairs, held in Kuwait. The discussions aimed to enhance collaboration among GCC member states in industry, standards, and metrology to support industrial development and facilitate trade within the GCC.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Al Jaber conveyed the UAE leadership's commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships, particularly in investment, and enhancing supply chain resilience. He expressed gratitude to Kuwait for hosting the meetings, which are crucial for advancing regional cooperation. Dr. Al Jaber highlighted the UAE's focus on establishing a competitive industrial base through high-value partnerships and private sector engagement, aligned with the vision of UAE's leadership.
During the visit, the UAE delegation also attended the 4th GCC Entrepreneur Forum, which focused on expanding small enterprises in the Gulf market and workshops on business growth and artificial intelligence. A digital platform, the Gulf Industrial Platform, was launched to support Gulf industrial projects.
The UAE showcased its industrial achievements at the 3rd Gulf Industrial Exhibition with five leading national success stories. Emirates Global Aluminium emphasised its role in reducing emissions using UAE-developed smelting technologies. Nutridor Dairy Company highlighted its innovative automation and solar energy use. Lootah Biofuel showcased its conversion of used cooking oil into sustainable aviation fuel. Future Pipe Industries demonstrated its production of corrosion-resistant pipes, and Desert Board unveiled its eco-friendly wooden boards from palm fronds.
Three UAE companies-Emirates Global Aluminium, Lootah Biofuel, and Desert Board-received the GCC Industrial Excellence Award, underscoring the UAE's industrial leadership and contribution to regional integration. The UAE delegation included Omar Al Suwaidi, Osama Amir Fadhel, and senior ministry officials.
