UAE Media Delegation Engages with Kuwait’s Ministry of Information

Kuwait city: The UAE media delegation today visited Kuwait's Ministry of Information as part of its official visit programme to Kuwait, organised by the Dubai Press Club under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.

According to Emirates News Agency, the visit celebrates the fraternal and historical ties between the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, and is part of broader efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in the media sector. The UAE media delegation, led by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, was received by key officials from Kuwait's Ministry of Information, including Turki Abdullah Al Mutairi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Radio and Television Sector; Lafi Mohsen Al Subaie, Director General of the News Department; and Bader Mubarak Al Deei, Director General of the Television Department. Discussions centered on institutional media cooperation and expertise sharing between the two countries.

The delegation toured the ministry's facilities, reviewing news studios, archive departments, and television studios, and explored programme production processes. Advanced broadcasting facilities, including 4K studios, were also showcased. The delegation was briefed on production and engineering departments, including editing suites, Studios 800 and 300, and transmission stations, which highlight the technical infrastructure supporting television broadcasting and production.

The tour also included radio facilities, film digitisation units, and sections for film cleaning and restoration, along with the ministry's digital platforms. This offered insights into Kuwait's media content preservation and digital transformation efforts.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri commented that the tour provided valuable insights into a regional media experience, noting that the facilities and systems reflect a commitment to international best practices in media production and content preservation. She emphasized that the visit supports expertise exchange and strengthens institutional cooperation, contributing to media sector development and integration between UAE and Kuwait institutions.

Turki Abdullah Al Mutairi expressed that the visit reflects the deep fraternal ties and shared vision for advancing Arab media. He highlighted the importance of exchanges for sharing expertise and learning from leading experiences, enhancing media content development.

Lafi Mohsen Al Subaie underlined the visit's role in strengthening cooperation in the news sector and exchanging professional experience. He emphasized media's role in public awareness and responsible messaging, valuing the visit for opening wider cooperation horizons in news and content quality enhancement.

Bader Mubarak Al Deei highlighted the shared interest in exchanging technical and production expertise. He affirmed Kuwait's commitment to aligning with the latest production and broadcasting technologies and strengthening cooperation with Dubai Media Incorporated.

The UAE media delegation includes over 100 senior media figures from the UAE, including heads of media organisations, editors-in-chief, writers, journalists, content creators, artists, producers, and influencers. The visit also involved leading Kuwaiti media professionals and opinion leaders, reflecting the shared commitment to strengthening media collaboration and building on their partnership.
