Abu dhabi: The UAE has demonstrated an alternative approach by adopting emerging technologies while respecting local context, communities, and ensuring data sovereignty, stated Kate Kallot, CEO and Founder of Amini.
According to Emirates News Agency, Kallot expressed her views at the inaugural edition of the BRIDGE Summit 2025 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. She emphasized that the UAE has successfully integrated emerging technologies into the country, maintaining respect for local people, agencies, and dignity. Kallot suggested that this model offers a pathway for many countries in the global majority, positioning the UAE as a leader in this domain.
Kallot, recognized by TIME and the World Economic Forum for her influence in AI, reiterated her message to the UAE and the region, acknowledging their current trajectory. She highlighted the importance of aligning infrastructure investments in Africa and other global majority regions with local innovators, who can transform projects into sustainable initiatives. This approach is crucial as the UAE expands into African markets, supporting local ecosystems.
At the BRIDGE Summit, where Kallot participated as a speaker, she discussed AI's convergence in emerging economies and diplomacy's role. The summit serves as an important platform, uniting media, diplomacy, and emerging technologies, which are increasingly interlinked. Kallot stated that technological developments now influence geopolitics and media, making the summit a critical venue for dialogue among ecosystem actors.
Kallot expressed her hope that summit discussions would lead to concrete progress. She urged that the voices from media, technology, and diplomacy should collaborate on an implementation framework, ensuring that actions are carried forward by stakeholders in the years to come.
