UAE National Orchestra Debuts at 54th Eid Al Etihad Celebration


Abu dhabi: The UAE National Orchestra (UAENO) made its debut at the 54th Eid Al Etihad official ceremony held at the Zayed National Museum, marking a significant milestone in the country’s cultural landscape. The orchestra presented specially arranged music for the national celebration and performed the UAE National Anthem, ‘Ishy Bilady,’ as part of its first public performance as a fully assembled national orchestra.



According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE National Orchestra played the musical score for the ceremony, complementing the visual and narrative storytelling that highlighted pivotal moments from the UAE’s past and present. The performance of the national anthem was a moment of pride and unity for audiences across the nation.



Sheikha Alia bint Khalid Al Qassimi, Managing Director of the UAE National Orchestra, expressed the honor of being part of the National Day celebrations. She emphasized the significance of the orchestra’s debut coinciding with the opening of the Zayed National Museum, a tribute to the vision of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. She stated that through music, the orchestra aims to reflect the UAE as it is today and share the nation’s story with a distinct musical voice.



Amine Kouider, Artistic Director and Conductor of the UAE National Orchestra, highlighted the emotional impact of performing at the official Eid Al Etihad ceremony. The event integrated narrative, history, and emotion, aiming to share a unified sound while drawing on the strength of diverse musicians. He noted the privilege of contributing to a national occasion of such significance.



The UAE National Orchestra comprises 70 full-time musicians and 30 choir members, representing a blend of Arabic and Western musical traditions. Their participation in Eid Al Etihad is part of the orchestra’s mission to reflect the UAE’s cultural identity through music and bring orchestral performances to communities across all seven Emirates. The orchestra aims to blend heritage with innovation, nurture musical talent, and contribute to the UAE’s cultural and creative landscape.
