Wednesday Marks the Beginning of Ramadan in UAE

Abu dhabi: The Presidential Court announced that tomorrow, Wednesday, the 18th of February 2026, will be the first day of the Holy Month of Ramadan in the UAE.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Presidential Court issued a statement confirming that the Moon Sighting Committee, in collaboration with the UAE Council for Fatwa, had sighted the crescent moon. The committee convened in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday evening, the 29th of Sha'ban 1447 AH, corresponding to the 17th of February 2026. This confirmation officially marks the start of Ramadan on Wednesday, the 18th of February 2026.

The statement also conveyed heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and other key leaders and dignitaries of the Emirates. The message extended to the people of the UAE and the entire world, expressing hopes for prosperity, blessings, goodness, and joy during the holy month.

The statement concluded with prayers for the nation, invoking blessings and praise to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, on this occasion.
