Abu dhabi: The programme for the inaugural Abu Dhabi Autonomous Summit, scheduled for 10th November, has been announced, with international industry leaders set to address critical issues such as regulation, integration, and technological advancements in AI, robotics, and smart mobility.
According to Emirates News Agency, the summit is organised by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC) and serves as the opening event of Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week. Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the event aims to define the next chapter of smart and autonomous mobility, positioning Abu Dhabi as a global testbed where autonomous technology is transitioning from pilot initiatives to public applications across land, sea, air, and industrial sectors.
The summit will comprise 13 sessions with over 30 speakers, fostering collaboration among policymakers, operators, investors, and innovators to transform regulatory frameworks into tangible, scalable applications. The summit will launch with a Leadership Dialogue focusing on how investment, integration, and innovation will drive Abu Dhabi's autonomous economy, outlining commercialisation pathways up to 2040, and the public-private partnerships that will sustain them.
A pivotal panel discussion on Regulating Autonomy will prioritize safety, exploring crucial topics such as cybersecurity, data governance, public trust, and accountability. The agenda will further delve into deployment strategies with sessions like From Concept to Reality and Powering Autonomy, which will explore scalable solutions such as robotaxis and public transport, alongside the electrified infrastructure supporting city-wide operations.
Sessions like Human-AI Synergy and AI-Driven Decision-Making will examine the integration of AI in real-time systems across various domains, while Cross-Sector Collaboration will highlight partnerships necessary to unlock practical, bankable use cases. Additional topics include Designing Smart Ports and Cities, Urban Air Mobility, Smart Cities in Action, and Financing and Insuring New Asset Classes.
Commenting on the event, Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Adviser to the UAE President and Secretary-General of the Advanced Technology Research Council, emphasized the UAE's commitment to intelligent autonomy. Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa and Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi also highlighted Abu Dhabi's vision to advance pioneering solutions and future-proof the economy through technological and investment-driven initiatives.
Notable participants at the summit include industry leaders such as Faisal Al Bannai, Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, and several other prominent figures from various sectors. The week-long event will feature additional highlights, including the DRIFTx exhibition and RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2025, culminating with the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL).
