Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), chaired a meeting of the Council's Board of Directors. The meeting saw attendance from key figures including Khalfan Juma Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Council, along with Board Members Ali Al Mutawa, Ahmed Al Khaja, Ismail Al Hashemi, Dr. Abdullah Al Karam, and Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of the Council.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor highlighted the strengths of Dubai's sports sector, attributing its success to the supportive leadership, progressive policies, talent development initiatives, private sector incentives, and international partnerships. The meeting focused on the development of the Council's new strategic plan, informed by the Dubai Sports Retreat and a detailed study of the sports sector's current state and future.

H.H. Sheikh Mansoor emphasized the importance of presenting the strategic plan to the sports community and stakeholders, encouraging their active participation. The plan aims to further develop Dubai's sports sector and enhance its global leadership. He stated the necessity for the sports sector's objectives and initiatives to mirror Dubai's global status and achievements.

During the meeting, the renaming of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Sports Award was approved. This change reflects the Award's global influence and its role in advancing the sports industry. The Award will be part of the World Sports Summit, scheduled for December 2025.

H.H. Sheikh Mansoor also reviewed preparations for the World Sports Summit, directed by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Summit aims to unite athletes, experts, and decision-makers globally, emphasizing collaboration for the future of sports.

The Board discussed community engagement in designing Dubai's new sports identity and preparations for upcoming sporting events in the emirate, ensuring successful organization.
