Abu dhabi: Etihad Airways and Swissport, renowned for being the leading provider of aviation services by revenue, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Arabian Travel Market. This agreement aims to broaden their global partnership by increasing the number of airports serviced by Swissport for Etihad Airways from 30 to 40.

According to Emirates News Agency, the expanded collaboration will cover airports across diverse regions including Africa, Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, Chief Operations and Guest Officer of Etihad Airways, highlighted the benefits of this partnership, stating that working with a single partner across 40 airports ensures consistent service for passengers departing from any location, be it Europe, Asia, or North America. This consistency is vital as Etihad continues to expand its operations.

Warwick Brady, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Swissport, expressed optimism about the partnership, emphasizing that both companies share a commitment to operational excellence and prioritizing customer experience. As Etihad embarks on a new growth phase, Swissport is eager to support the journey with its extensive global network, operational expertise, and technological capabilities.

The MoU outlines a collaboration in ground handling and cargo services, with potential extensions into airport hospitality through Swissport's Aspire brand. Both companies are keen on leveraging technology and innovation to drive the partnership forward, aiming to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen service delivery, and improve the overall guest experience.

By integrating automation, artificial intelligence, and data-driven insights, such as Swissport's development of autonomous ground vehicles, the partnership intends to facilitate safer and more streamlined airport operations.
