Dubai: ‘Future Hack 2026’, a four-day inter-university science hackathon, successfully concluded at Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Knowledge Park, in partnership with Dubai Science Park and supported by the incubator in5. The event, part of TECOM Group PJSC, aimed to foster collaboration between students, academia, and industry leaders to solve real-world scientific challenges.
According to Emirates News Agency, the hackathon united talented students from various universities within TECOM Group’s ecosystem to tackle challenges set by industry partners such as Smart Salem and Mediclinic Middle East. The event focused on practical problem-solving rather than a conventional competition, addressing issues related to Smart Cities, Future Services, Wellbeing, Preventative Care, and Digital Health.
Mediclinic Middle East has pledged to incubate the two winning teams from the University of Birmingham Dubai and Manipal Academy of Higher Education – Dubai Campus. These teams will undergo a structured development phase to transform their ideas into proofs-of-concept. They also have the opportunity to receive funding from Mediclinic Middle East and potentially see their innovations deployed across its hospital network.
Future Hack 2026 showcased the value of practical collaboration in transforming innovative ideas into impactful solutions. Participants engaged in industry-led challenges and received mentorship and feedback from ecosystem experts, enhancing the real-world applicability of their solutions. Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Science Park, Dubai International Academic City, and Dubai Knowledge Park, emphasized the hackathon’s role in bridging the gap between bright ideas and tangible solutions.
