Hamdan bin Zayed Discusses Zayed Charity Run Preparations with Committee Chairman

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, received Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Run, at Al Nakheel Palace.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan reviewed preparations for the upcoming edition of the run, focusing on its social impact and humanitarian message both locally and globally. He was updated on the readiness of the organising teams and final arrangements to welcome participants, with an anticipation of growing public interest as the event nears.

The Zayed Charity Run is set to host approximately 15,000 participants, comprising families, students, athletes, and community groups in races of 3, 5, and 10 kilometres. The event will span from Wahat Al Karama to Erth Abu Dhabi, highlighting its significant role in the community.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the Zayed Charity Run has transcended its status as a mere annual sporting event, evolving into a global humanitarian platform. This transformation is inspired by the values of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, focusing on compassion, generosity, and social solidarity.

He acknowledged the robust support from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for humanitarian initiatives, stating that such backing is crucial for these events' success. The support underscores the leadership's vision of promoting generosity and solidarity, bolstering the UAE's position as a global model for humanitarian action.

Additionally, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the run's role in embodying the spirit of the UAE, turning sport into a bridge for hope and a platform for humanitarian contributions. He noted that support for research programmes is an investment in the future of medicine, reflecting collective efforts from the community and research institutions for sustainable positive outcomes.

Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi mentioned that this year's run proceeds will fully support advanced research programmes at the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre. These include personalised cancer therapies, precision medicine based on biological data, and innovative perinatal medicine research.
