London:Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane has won the 2026 Men's Ballon d'Or, marking the first time an Englishman has claimed football's most prestigious individual award since Michael Owen in 2001. The announcement was made in London on Monday.

According to Wam, Barcelona's Lamine Yamal was awarded the Kopa Trophy for the third consecutive year, recognizing him as the world's best player under 21.

In other awards, Spain's Alexia Putellas won the Women's Ballon d'Or for the third time. Harry Kane also received the Gerd Müller Trophy for being the season's leading goalscorer. Spain's coach Luis de la Fuente was honored as Men's Coach of the Year, while Barcelona's Vicky López took home the Women's Kopa Trophy.
