Jordan Inaugurates First CNG Filling Station for Vehicles

Jordan: Jordan has launched its first independent compressed natural gas (CNG) refuelling station, a significant development aimed at expanding natural gas usage for buses, trucks, and other vehicles while reducing energy costs.

According to Emirates News Agency, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Saleh Kharabsheh highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing the role of natural gas throughout the kingdom. This initiative aligns with Jordan's economic modernization vision and its strategy to diversify energy sources. Kharabsheh emphasized the ministry's dedication to expanding natural gas use in Jordan and fostering an attractive investment climate for this crucial sector.

The newly inaugurated station features a capacity of 1,500 litres and is equipped with two pumps capable of filling vehicles at a pressure of 250 bar within 7-11 minutes. Officials noted that CNG provides approximately 50% savings compared to traditional petrol and diesel fuels.
