Davos: The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) has announced its support for UNICEF’s measles vaccination programme, which targets children in marginalized communities and conflict areas. The announcement was made during MBRGI’s participation in the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, under the theme ‘A Spirit of Dialogue’.
According to Emirates News Agency, Saeed Al Eter, CEO of MBRGI, signed a Letter of Intent with UNICEF’s Executive Director Catherine Russell. This partnership will see MBRGI aiding UNICEF’s efforts to vaccinate one million children against measles. Al Eter emphasized MBRGI’s commitment to strengthening strategic alliances with international organizations, aligning with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to support humanitarian programs in vulnerable communities, particularly those in need of healthcare.
Al Eter stated that the collaboration with UNICEF demonstrates MBRGI’s commitment to global efforts aimed at protecting and empowering children by providing access to modern medical treatments and disease prevention. He envisions this partnership as a significant step in their mission to support underprivileged children across various nations by breaking the cycle of disease and despair.
Catherine Russell expressed UNICEF’s gratitude for the ongoing partnership with MBRGI, highlighting the positive impact it has had on vulnerable children’s lives. She noted the importance of this additional effort to reach one million children affected by conflict with life-saving measles vaccinations, emphasizing that no child should die from an easily preventable disease.
The MBRGI and UNICEF partnership aims to deliver routine immunization services to unvaccinated children through a coordinated programme designed to ensure their survival and healthy development. This collaboration reflects a shared vision to reach the world’s most vulnerable populations through comprehensive, innovation-driven plans that establish long-term vaccination systems.
