Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, met with Marwan Ahmed Lotfi, Director-General of Al Etihad Credit Bureau, at His Highness's office. The meeting was attended by Lotfi's delegation and focused on the Bureau's contributions to the financial ecosystem.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Sultan praised the Bureau's efforts in fostering financial stability and enhancing the efficiency of the financial sector. He was informed about the Bureau's mandate, which includes the collection, storage, analysis, classification, use, exchange, and protection of credit information. The Bureau is also responsible for compiling credit records and exclusively issuing credit information reports at the national level.
Sheikh Sultan received an overview of the Bureau's initiatives to enhance collaboration with over 115 information providers, including banks, financial institutions, and judicial authorities. These initiatives aim to ensure a comprehensive and reliable picture of the credit history of individuals and businesses.
The meeting also explored potential cooperation between the Sharjah Judicial Council and Al Etihad Credit Bureau. The goal is to enhance the exchange of expertise and information, support the development of joint working mechanisms, and improve procedural efficiency and institutional integration to benefit the judicial and financial systems of both Sharjah and the UAE.
