Rome: TRENDS Research and Advisory has taken a significant step in enhancing international cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Italian Centre for International Studies (Ce.S.I.). The agreement aims to foster collaboration in research, economic studies, advisory services, and knowledge exchange between the two institutions.
According to Emirates News Agency, the signing ceremony took place at the Ce.S.I. headquarters in Rome. It was attended by a group of experts, analysts, and researchers from both organizations. The MoU sets a framework for long-term cooperation through joint studies that analyze global events, with a particular focus on peacebuilding and geopolitical developments. The partnership also seeks to organize conferences, symposiums, and workshops to promote intellectual dialogue.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, emphasized that the partnership aligns with TRENDS' vision to expand international cooperation and build academic bridges with global research institutions. He noted that the collaboration with Ce.S.I. aims to go beyond producing research by developing shared perspectives on challenges facing the Middle East and Europe amid rapid global change.
The strategic dialogue with the Italian Institute for International Affairs was also highlighted as crucial by Dr. Al-Ali. He pointed out that as global challenges intensify, there is a need for collective, knowledge-driven approaches based on scientific foresight. Such dialogues and intellectual engagements are expected to unify efforts and complement roles in joint research, organizing scientific events, and exchanging expertise that contribute to stability, peace, and sustainable development.
Professor Andrea Margelletti, President of Ce.S.I., remarked that the MoU represents an important step toward broadening research horizons in the Middle East and Europe. He stressed that understanding the regional and international interconnections requires genuine scientific and knowledge partnerships to analyze them and produce realistic insights.
Michele Valensise, President of the Italian Institute for International Affairs, reinforced the institute's commitment to strengthening its partnership with TRENDS. He described TRENDS as an inspiring global knowledge platform that promotes tolerance, moderation, and intellectual exchange. He also mentioned that the collaboration will support UAE-Italian cooperation in fields such as AI, technology, and economic development, which are essential for achieving shared prosperity.
Dr. Maria Luisa Fantappi©, Head of the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Africa Programme at IAI, explained that both parties agreed to establish a strategic framework for cooperation.
