The two leaders held a joint press conference after their meeting in Alaska, where Trump stated that "many points were agreed to." He plans to discuss the outcomes with European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to Emirates News Agency, Putin remarked that Trump is eager to address the "crux of the matter" concerning the conflict in Ukraine. Putin expressed optimism that their "agreements" could serve as a "starting point" for resolving the Ukrainian issue. Additionally, Putin extended an invitation to Trump for a future conversation in Moscow. In a post-meeting interview with Fox News, Trump emphasized that the onus is now on Zelensky to finalize a deal. He also mentioned that both Putin and Zelensky want him to participate in a potential future meeting between the two leaders to discuss peace efforts. While Trump and Putin concurred on mos t issues, a few points of contention remain. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov highlighted the positivity of the conversation, noting it as a step toward confidently seeking resolution options. The United Nations acknowledged the summit's outcomes, with UN Secretary-General's Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric welcoming the continued constructive dialogue. The UN chief urged for an immediate, full, and unconditional ceasefire as a preliminary step towards achieving peace in Ukraine.
