Dubai: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, the UAE Food Bank convened its Annual Ceremony for 2025, celebrating strategic partners, contributors, and volunteers whose efforts support the Bank’s humanitarian mission.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event, held at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, was attended by Marwan Ahmad bin Ghalita, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the UAE Food Bank, and other dignitaries. The ceremony honoured 67 entities, including recipients of the Endowment Mark, who significantly contributed to the Bank’s initiatives over the past year.
The ceremony underscored the Bank’s dedication to fostering partnerships that enhance its local and international impact. Marwan Ahmad bin Ghalita highlighted that the Bank’s success is a testament to the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian efforts, emphasizing collaboration as key to expanding operations and achieving progress in food distribution, waste reduction, and environmental sustainability.
Manal Obaid bin Yaroof, Head of the Executive Team of the UAE Food Bank, reiterated the essential role of partners and volunteers in the Bank’s achievements. She noted the focus on improving surplus-food distribution efficiency and expanding collaborations in 2025 to ensure sustainable food access for beneficiaries. The Bank remains dedicated to reducing food waste and promoting social responsibility in the UAE.
The ceremony also highlighted significant accomplishments for 2025, with over 23 million people benefiting from redistributed surplus food and AED1.1 million in financial donations. More than two million individuals engaged in educational programmes, and 20 major initiatives were launched with volunteer involvement.
Additionally, the Bank signed 28 cooperation agreements with partners, strengthening its network. It diverted over 6,275 tonnes of food from landfills, equivalent to more than 15 million meals, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability.
The event concluded by acknowledging the strategic partners and volunteers instrumental in advancing the Bank’s mission, reaffirming a commitment to enhancing its humanitarian impact.
