Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has launched the second phase of the Zero Government Bureaucracy programme. The initiative is aimed at creating simpler, faster, and more impactful government services in the UAE, with the goal of eliminating digital bureaucracy.
According to Emirates News Agency, the first phase of the programme achieved significant milestones, including reducing service delivery time by over 70%, eliminating more than 4,000 unnecessary procedures, and saving customers over 12 million hours. The programme serves as a comprehensive national framework uniting the efforts of all ministries and government entities to establish the UAE government as a global leader in service delivery.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, emphasized the programme's alignment with the UAE leadership's vision to prioritize citizen services and improve processes. The first phase saw the collaboration of 30 government entities and 690 teams, leading to the removal of 1,600 redundant requirements and saving AED 1.12 billion annually for the public, customers, businesses, and investors.
Al Gergawi further stated that the next phase will focus on achieving zero digital bureaucracy by streamlining digital applications, ensuring 24-hour uptime for digital systems, and enhancing digital integration between government entities. This phase aims to modernize all government digital systems and effectively integrate AI, continuing the removal of unnecessary procedures and services.
During the launch event, His Excellency Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice, highlighted the Ministry's achievements in eliminating bureaucracy, leading to winning the Zero Bureaucracy Awards' Best Government Team. Mohammed bin Taliah, Chief of Government Services, outlined the objectives of the second phase, which include enhancing government integration, data sharing, and adopting leading business practices.
The event concluded with a dialogue session titled "Zero Bureaucracy and the Private Sector," featuring insights from Marwan Ibrahim Haji Nasser, Chairman and CEO of Tadawi Healthcare Group, and Fouad Mansoor Sharaf, Managing Director of the UAE Shopping Malls at MAF Properties. The session explored the impact of eliminating bureaucracy on the private sector's efficiency and service excellence.
Launched in November 2023, the UAE Zero Government Bureaucracy programme reflects the leadership's commitment to creating a future-forward experience that enhances lives and attracts talent through streamlined government services.
