Abu dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan honoured ten individuals whose contributions have positively impacted the UAE community at the 12th edition of the Abu Dhabi Awards held at Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi. The awards ceremony coincided with the Year of Community, marking the 20th anniversary of the Abu Dhabi Awards.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Abu Dhabi Awards has been a national platform celebrating selflessness and appreciation, inspired by the legacy of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The awards have honoured 110 individuals from 18 different nationalities since its inception, with contributions spanning fields such as healthcare, education, cultural preservation, and environmental protection.
During the ceremony, the stories of the honourees were showcased, emphasizing that giving is a universal value not limited by age, nationality, or profession. President Sheikh Mohamed congratulated the honourees, affirming the nation's commitment to recognising those who uphold integrity and social responsibility.
The event was attended by prominent UAE officials, including H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and other distinguished guests. The honourees included:
- Obaid Kenish Al Hameli, a businessman and philanthropist known for his contributions to community development and education.
- Moza Mohamed Al Hafiti, an educator recognised for her innovative contributions to the learning environment.
- Rashid Abdullah Al Nuaimi, a national figure with achievements in government, culture, and philanthropy.
- The late Mohamed Ibrahim Obaidallah, known for his generosity and advancements in healthcare.
- Salem Hamad Al Mansoori and Fatima Majed Al Mansoori, who made a humanitarian decision to donate their late daughter's organs.
- Hamama Obaid Khamis, a traditional healer who dedicated her life to serving her community.
- Abdelmonem Bin Eisa Alserkal, a cultural figure who enriched the arts landscape in the UAE.
- The late David Heard, an engineer and historian who documented the UAE's transformation.
- The late Sultan Ali Al Owais, a patron of culture and philanthropy.
- Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, a government policymaker and business leader contributing to the UAE's development.
